Jacob “Jack” J. Cinamon, 98
PORTLAND – On Tuesday morning, Nov. 22, 2016, Jack Cinamon peacefully passed away at The Cedars. The son of Samuel and Mamie (Goffin) Cinamon, he was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Portland.
He graduated Portland High School, Bowdoin College, and did post-grad work at Middlesex University.

In 1982, he retired and sold the building on the corner of Center and Pleasant Streets, which, to this day, still carries the Cinamon family name. After retirement, he volunteered at Audubon Scarborough Marsh, SMAA and Portland String Quartet.
He enjoyed lifelong learning at Senior College; monthly jazz lunches with the guys; and Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with Peter and the gang.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Molly (Schwartz) Cinamon; two daughters; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His family would like to thank the staff at The Cedars for their attentive care, and hospice for being there when needed.
Funeral service will be graveside on Friday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hicks Street, in Portland. Shiva will be observed at the family residence at 424 Woodford St., Portland, on Saturday and Sunday nights from 7-9 p.m. Arrangements are by the Jewish Funeral Home, Portland.
